A woman from London will accord. birth next week to the first British baby screened to be free of an altered gene that causes breast cancer.

Women in three generations of her husband’s kindred be the subject of been diagnosed with the disease in their 20s.

Without the embryo screening, any daughter born would have a 50-80% chance of experiencing breast cancer.

But some experienced person warned the technique would not subsist proper for all couples with this disease in their family.

Baby born with ‘foot in brain’

US surgeons operating on a brain tumour in a baby boy found a tiny foot inside his commander.

Doctors operated on three-day old Sam Esquibel after discovery what looked partiality a microscopic tumour on an MRI scan.

People ’still willing to torture’

Decades after a notorious experiment, scientists have found test subjects are still willing to lay on pain on others - if told to by an empire figure.

US researchers repeated the famous “Milgram test”, with volunteers told to deliver electrical shocks to another volunteer - played by an actor.

Even after faked screams of pain, 70% were prepared to grow the voltage, the American Psychologist study found.

Both may help warrant why evidently ordinary people can commit atrocities.

Sandwiches ’caused fainting fits’

British doctors have released details of a woman who regularly fainted after eating sandwiches or fizzy drinks.

The 25-year-old experienced the episodes for around 10 years, but numerous medical tests had failed to find an explanation.

In the Lancet, the University Hospital Birmingham team said she was found to have each unusual swallowing introspective which caused her heart to stop every moment.

She was fitted with a pacemaker in January, which stopped her fainting.

The patient experienced episodes, lasting up to 10 seconds, of feeling suddenly and alarmingly light-headed and nauseous and she would sometimes have divers episodes a week.
